If you are interested in earning a college degree at no cost, consider attending an informational meeting for the Teacher Residency Program.
November 7
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
For those interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a three-year accelerated program to teach elementary grades K-5 with a special education endorsement.
(Open to those who do not currently hold a bachelor`s degree, including high school seniors.)
November 14
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
For those who have a bachelor’s degree and are interested in obtaining a master’s degree or certification to teach middle-grade English or Math (with an optional English Language Learners certification), or are seeking a master’s degree in K-5 with dual certification in Special Education.
Both meetings will be held at Central Services South, 1312 State Highway 48.

Mike Andrews shared this sentiment with his art students at Montgomery Central Elementary School. After inviting local artist Tracy Bettencourt to share her experience, students had the chance to create artwork using Tracy`s style and medium. Watch their excitement!
Montgomery Central Elementary students had a unique lesson in perspective this week. Using the overarching theme of “Character Matters” students participated in lessons during reading that discussed topics ranging from encountering challenges to meeting new people.
Local artist, Tracy Bettencourt, partnered with art teacher Mike Andrews to work alongside students and discuss the challenges she experiences daily as a vision-impaired artist.
Students created paintings using her style and medium. We are so proud of our students for challenging themselves and our educators for teaching that character counts daily!

CMCSS Elementary Schools will host Parent-Teacher Conferences on September 12 and September 26. These conferences are a great way to connect with your child`s teacher and collaborate on ways to support learning at home and in the classroom.

The CMCSS College and Career Fair is a great opportunity for students and parents to informally visit with representatives from colleges, the military, local industries, and other post-secondary institutions of interest. Patriot Day is observed annually on September 11th.
This day of remembrance can be observed with a moment of silence at 8:46 AM (EST), the time when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. On Patriot Day, we remember and pay tribute to those who were affected by the events of September 11, 2001, and reaffirm our commitment to the values of freedom and solidarity.
Let’s take this day to appreciate the freedom we cherish and the first responders that selflessly supports us. May we continue to build a world filled with kindness, respect, and understanding.
