We love the winning design of the annual Spooky Special Bus contest! CMCSS students across the district had the opportunity to participate in the art contest hosted by CTS to design and paint a city bus. This spooky creation came from Clarksville High School and left us trembling in our boots (in the best way possible!) and truly captured the Halloween spirit. 🕸️🕷️🖤

Through various Community Helper events, our elementary school students have been learning about careers that support our community. From first responders to smoke jumpers, logistics and transportation to environmental science, our students are introduced to a variety of career pathways at an early age!
Afterschool clubs and field trips are just some of the ways students can continue to learn outside of the classroom. Clubs and field trips are also a wonderful time for students to build social skills, engage with their peers, and explore the world around them!
Carmel Elementary School`s Art Club expressed their creativity with pumpkin painting, while Hazelwood Elementary School students went on a virtual trip to Bolivia with the Spanish Club.
East Montgomery Elementary and Kenwood Elementary students loved their pumpkin patch field trips!
Rossview Middle School library ambassadors had a mini field trip to Rossview Elementary where they spent time reading to the elementary students.
Richview Middle School 6th-grade students spent time enjoying the outdoors at Rotary Park!
D`zion Tinord is a sophomore in the Northwest High School Health Science Academy. His career aspiration is to become a cardiologist.
"I have always been interested in being a doctor, and my family has always pushed me to be one," he shared. "In 8th grade, I found out about the Health Science Academy, because somebody came to talk to us about it at school—it offered a lot of opportunities."
Being part of the academy, he says he enjoys the field trip experiences the most. "Every time we leave the school, we are learning about things we wouldn`t normally get to see. We`ve been to the EMS Center, Premier Medical, and Hopkinsville for medical device simulation experiences—things I wouldn`t get to see if I wasn`t in the Academy."

Federal Impact Aid is designed to assist local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal property. Federal Impact Aid is set up for school districts where federally owned lands (such as Fort Campbell, government buildings, TVA steam plants, subsidized housing, etc.) are located. Its intent is to help offset the lost property taxes that would have been collected if businesses or privately owned residences were located there instead. Federal Impact Aid does not provide an amount of funding for every military-dependent child who is served in our school system.

West Creek High School families were able to see first-hand what their students were learning in the classroom. Aviation students, faculty, and community partners shared career path information with parents and guardians. Students had the opportunity to show off their skills while families watched them navigate simulators and aviation learning programs.

The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce and CMCSS were delighted to host the "Tomorrow`s Leaders Today" event at Northwest High School this morning.
Local business leaders and elected officials had the opportunity to explore how students are preparing for their future careers. They spent time hearing from students about college and career preparation in healthcare, automotive repair, culinary arts, and criminal justice. CMCSS offers 34 different college and career pathways for high school students.
Clarksville High School`s 2023-2024 yearbook was named as one of the "National Yearbooks of the Year" 📚
The honor was presented by Pictavo, a printing company in the yearbook industry. From the company`s international network of yearbook creators, 10 publications garnered recognition based on their inclusivity, representation, overall reporting, writing, and editing. "Our staff for the 2023-2024 school year was comprised of 9th-12th grade students in both the journalism class and afterschool yearbook club," shared Melissa Schindler, English and Journalism teacher at CHS and the Yearbook Advisor. "Jericah Guillermo and Hannah Hutchins were our lead senior editors, and their vision for the book was to create a publication that featured the unique stories of the students who make up CHS, both inside and outside of the school building. We featured students who participate in the junior Olympics, create amazing cosplay costumes, earn their pilot’s license, show horses competitively, and so much more."
This was the yearbook club`s first year working under Pictavo`s mentorship in partnership with their publisher, Wilcox Recognition. They had a goal of creating a nationally competitive yearbook in five years—and achieved their goal a year early.
