Camp Junior Executive engages our newest executives in hands-on supply chain learning, leadership challenges, and team-building activities. This immersive experience will develop practical skills, foster teamwork, and introduce students to the workings of supply chain management and the business field, providing a valuable learning opportunity in a short time frame.

Did we mention fun? This isn’t an office-based or behind-the-desk experience. With interactive games, simulations, and a planned water day to wrap up camp, we can’t wait to welcome the best and brightest to Kirkwood’s campus to be the future of Supply Chain Management!

Snacks will be provided daily, and students will depart camp with memories, new knowledge, and a SCMA swag pack!

🌟 Hazelwood Elementary Principal 🌟

Dr. Candice Leaverton has been selected as the principal of Hazelwood Elementary School, beginning the 2024-2025 school year. Dr. Leaverton has 20 years of education experience and currently serves as an assistant principal at Rossview Middle School. Previously, she served as an assistant principal at Carmel Elementary School. Dr. Leaverton began her career with CMCSS in 2017 as a special education teacher and department chair at West Creek High School. Before joining CMCSS, she served as a special education teacher at schools in Tennessee, Georgia, Alaska, and with DoDEA in Italy. Dr. Leaverton has served in numerous school-level leadership roles, including Special Education Administrator, Testing Team Co-Chairman and After-School Activities Coordinator. She graduated from the CMCSS Aspiring Administrator Academy, Sumner County Schools Leadership Academy, and the Aspiring Secondary Principal Academy. Dr. Leaverton earned her Ed.D. and Ed.S. from Union University, M.Ed. from Walden University, and B.S. from Austin Peay State University.

✏️ St. Bethlehem Assistant Principal 🖍

Fonda Malone has been selected as an assistant principal at St. Bethlehem, beginning the 2024-2025 school year. She will bring over 26 years of experience in Pre-K and early childhood education to the Early Learning Center. Currently, Malone serves as a Literacy Coach for Metro Nashville Public Schools. Previously, she served for seven years as a Senior Instructional Advisor for the Division of Early Childhood for Memphis-Shelby County Schools. Before entering instructional leadership, she taught for 18 years at schools in Nashville, Memphis, and Maryland, teaching Pre-K through 1st grade. She has served in numerous school and district-level leadership capacities, has been featured in national publications, and has presented at several state and national conferences, including The White House Conference on Teenagers: Raising Responsible and Resourceful Youth and the National PTO Conference. Malone earned her M.Ed. from Cambridge College and B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Tennessee State University.

Students will be exposed to multiple aspects of the agriculture industry including animal science, plant science and natural resources via classroom activities, school farm and greenhouse. Carla Patterson 🌟 SPANISH IMMERSION ELEMENTARY

Carla has been with CMCSS for over three years and currently serves as an Educational Assistant while completing the Teacher Residency Program. She was selected as the 2024 Classified Employee of the Year for Spanish Immersion Elementary.

"Spanish Immersion is an amazing program, and I am so blessed with the opportunity to be a part of it," said Carla. "Being able to be immersed in the language I grew up speaking at home is so special. Going through CMCSS myself I am excited that the residency program is allowing me to continue my education to have my own classroom right here in my hometown one day."

We love that Carla is pursuing her passion to have a classroom of her own one day! Congratulations!
