Impact Aid

The Federal Impact Aid survey is crucial for our school system to receive federal funding to support school programs. The district will send a final reminder on Friday, January 13 to those families who have missed the earlier requests. Please take three minutes to complete this survey. Please watch this video and read this letter from Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Col. Andrew Jordan about the importance of completing this survey.

Open Enrollment

CMCSS offers several non-traditional schools and programs of choice for students. These innovative programs are designed to provide families the opportunity to choose schools and programs that will help their children reach their potential. The open enrollment window for schools and programs of choice and schools with available seats for the 2023-24 school year begins next Monday, January 16 and ends on Wednesday, February 15. Click here for more information on each program and how to apply.

Social and Emotional Learning Resources

Last semester, CMCSS held social and emotional learning resource review and feedback sessions for parents and community members. Families reviewed and provided feedback on resources that were vetted by educators and aligned to state laws and standards. After considering feedback from all stakeholders, the Social and Emotional Learning Team selected the final three classroom resources. Families can visit cmcss.net/sel to learn more about the classroom resources as well as view additional resources that can be used at home.

As a reminder from the September 2022 communication, in the 2021-22 parent/guardian survey, almost two-thirds of families indicated that addressing social and emotional learning (SEL) should be a top priority for CMCSS. All schools continue to assess and address the resources and supports available to ensure they meet students’ social and emotional needs. CMCSS’ SEL resources and supports are aligned with state laws and the Tennessee Department of Education’s social and personal competencies and school counselor model and standards.

Student Code of Conduct

As a reminder from last month’s communication, the CMCSS Student Code of Conduct is reviewed annually in accordance with state laws and local policy and procedure. In May 2023, the CMCSS School Board will approve the Student Code of Conduct for the 2023-2024 school year. To receive valuable input to continuously improve, CMCSS is seeking feedback from all stakeholders on the Student Code of Conduct and student discipline.

Please click here to provide feedback. The survey will be open through Sunday, January 15, 2023. We appreciate all who have already provided feedback!
