Abby Binkley, Executive Director of Education Foundation
Abby Binkley, currently assistant principal at Northeast High School, has been named Executive Director of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation.
Binkley, who earned her B.S. in K-12 health and physical education from Kennesaw State University and her master’s of education degree in administration and supervision from Bethel University, has one year of administrative experience and nine years of teaching experience in CMCSS. Her experience includes two years at Rossview High School, two years in school technology and five years in elementary physical education. In addition to her high school teaching experience, she has taught at Rossview and West Creek Elementary Schools.
She has completed McREL Balanced Leadership and the Tennessee Academy for School Leaders. On a community level, she is Past-President of Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville and has served on the Customs House Museum Guild 2011-2013.
Anthony Johnson, Community Relations Director and Management Representative
Anthony Johnson, who has served as CMCSS Related Arts Consulting Teacher since 2014, has been named Community Relations Director and Management Representative. Johnson previously taught music and served as the Outdoor Classroom and Sustainability Coordinator at Moore Magnet Elementary School. Before entering public education, he worked in business management in the private sector.
Johnson earned both his Ed.S in Education Administration and Supervision and Masters of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Austin Peay State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and music performance from Lambuth University in Jackson, TN. He is a 2007 graduate of the Frank J. Ruck Leadership Institute at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
Johnson is a 2015 graduate of the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators’ Academy. He has also completed McREL Balanced Leadership and the CMCSS Introduction to Leadership courses. Johnson serves on the Board of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council.
Dr. Joshua Mason, Professional Development Coordinator
Dr. Joshua Mason, currently director of secondary education for Dickson County Schools, has been named Professional Development Coordinator for CMCSS, beginning his duties in late May.
Dr. Mason earned his Ed.D. In educational leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. He earned his master’s in educational leadership from Austin Peay State University and his B.S. in English education from Indiana University.
He has been Dickson County director of secondary education for four years. Previously, he served as principal of Jo Byrns High School, where they were a SCORE prize finalist; and, he has seven years of teaching experience. He also served as assistant principal at Springfield Middle School.
Dr. Mason is a certified trainer for McREL Balanced Leadership and Classroom Instruction That Works. He also completed Instructional Rounds in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education and completed the Prospective Superintendents Academy with the Tennessee School Boards Association.
