Vaccinations Help Prevent Serious Illness
August 17, 2018
Parents, as flu season approaches, please consider having your child vaccinated. Over 1,485 American children have died from seasonal flu (or influenza) in the past decade, and 50 of those children were from Tennessee. Countless other children became seriously ill with this virus. The flu vaccine offers the best available protection from the risk of flu death. Additionally, meningococcal disease (meningitis) is a serious illness that causes inflammation of the lining around the brain. It can be spread from person to person via close contact. The meningococcal vaccine can prevent bacterial meningococcal disease. Please consider vaccinating your child.
