Administrator Appointments Announced in March

Pisgah Elementary School Principal

Dr. Tenesha Hardin has been selected as the Principal of Pisgah Elementary, replacing Jami Skevington who will serve as the 504 Coordinator for the District.

Dr. Hardin has served as an assistant principal at West Creek Elementary since 2018. Before entering administration, she served for eight years as a teacher at West Creek Elementary and ten years as a teacher at New Providence Middle, in addition to serving as a school-based 504 Coordinator and After-School Director. At the district and state levels, she has served on numerous standards, curriculum, and assessment committees; facilitated trainings; presented at conferences; and served as a teacher mentor. She was a SCORE TN Educator Fellow and served as a CMCSS Lead Teacher.

She earned her Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership from Union University and her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, and B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Austin Peay State University. Dr. Hardin recently earned a Special Education Endorsement from Trevecca Nazarene University and completed the Tennessee Department of Education Academy for School Leaders in 2021. Additionally, she completed McREL Balanced Leadership Training for Administrators and the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy.

Montgomery Central Middle School Principal

Dr. Lisa Courson has been selected as the Principal of Montgomery Central Middle School, replacing Vicki Winner who resigned for personal reasons.

Dr. Courson has served as an assistant principal at Richview Middle School since 2016. She has 19 years’ experience in public education and almost 30 years’ experience in leadership. Dr. Courson began her career in public education as a teacher in 2003 and has taught at Kenwood Elementary, West Creek Elementary, and Richview Middle schools. Before entering public education, she was a Customer Service Supervisor for a major US airline. She has served on numerous school-, district-, and state-level committees and has facilitated district- and state-level curriculum and STEM trainings.

She earned her Ed.D. in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University, M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction (Literacy) from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and her B.S. in Education from Austin Peay State University. She earned her administrator certification from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. Additionally, Dr. Courson completed McREL Balanced Leadership Training for Administrators.
