CMCSS Administrator Appointments Announced in March 2023

Karen Hoskins has been selected as the principal of Barksdale Elementary School, beginning the 2023-2024 school year. Hoskins will be replacing Melinda Harris who is retiring after nearly 30 years of service in CMCSS. Hoskins has been an assistant principal at Barksdale Elementary School since 2006. She has spent her entire 27-year career with CMCSS at Barksdale Elementary, and she even student taught at the school. Hoskins has served in numerous school-level leadership roles, including Special Education Administrator, Testing Coordinator, and STEM administrator. During her ten years as a teacher, she earned both the Teacher of the Year and Green Apple Award honors. Hoskins earned her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University and her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Austin Peay State University. She completed the McREL Balanced Leadership Training for Administrators and is a graduate of the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy.
