CMCSS Administrator Announcements – October 2023

CMCSS made the following administrator announcements.
Kirkwood Elementary School Principal
Frances Ann Camp has been selected as the principal of Kirkwood Elementary School. Camp will begin her responsibilities in January 2024 to ensure Kirkwood Elementary is prepared to welcome students for the 2024-2025 school year. She currently serves as the principal of Rossview Elementary School and has 18 years of experience in school administration, including serving as an assistant principal at Rossview Elementary and Barkers Mill Elementary schools. She has ten years of experience as a teacher at Hazelwood Elementary and has also served for a year as a substitute teacher. Camp earned her M.A.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Trevecca Nazarene University and B.S. in Elementary Education from Austin Peay State University. She completed the CMCSS Leadership Series and the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy.
Liberty Elementary School Assistant Principal
Alisha Burks has been selected as an assistant principal at Liberty Elementary School. Since 2019, Burks has served an Academic Coach at West Creek Elementary School, where she began career with CMCSS in 2008 as a teacher. She has served in numerous school, district, and state-level curriculum and professional learning leadership roles. Burks was named Teacher of the Year at West Creek Elementary in 2013, 2016, and 2019. She earned her M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development and her B.S. in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University. Additionally, she earned her ELL endorsement from the University of Tennessee at Martin and her endorsement in educational leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University. Burks completed the CMCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy and the CMCSS Teacher Leadership Academy.
