FREE Summer FAFSA Outreach July 11

There are three remaining workshops for families to receive help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). School leaders will help students understand the FAFSA process, answer questions regarding the application, and assist with the next steps. Confusion surrounding the FAFSA application process is one of the most common reasons students do not fill out the forms. School leaders encourage all CMCSS Seniors to complete the application to learn about any available aid. Many colleges, universities, and technical schools require completion of the FAFSA as part of the admission process, whether students qualify or not. For families who may have questions or need additional assistance understanding the application process, CMCSS has several helpful resources. There are major changes and improvements to the 2024-2025 FAFSA form. Families can find information from studentaid.gov concerning the new 2024-2025 FAFSA. School districts and public charter schools must create a local Foundational Literacy Skills Plan for students in kindergarten through fifth grade and submit the final approved plan to the department for approval. The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s Foundational Literacy Skills Plan has been approved by the Tennessee Department of Education. Immunization Reminder for 7th-Grade Families

The following message was sent to incoming 7th-grade families:  Dear Parents/Guardians, Tennessee state law requires that your student has a booster dose of tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis vaccine (known as TDAP) to be admitted into the 7th grade next school year. This requirement must be documented on the official Tennessee Certificate of Immunization form. Out-of-state records are not acceptable except for active Military or National Guard. Please make arrangements with your healthcare provider, the Health Department, or an immunization partner for your child to receive this new immunization before the first day of the 2024-2025 school year. Per state law, no child can be permitted to attend any public school until proof of immunization is presented. If your student qualifies for a Medical or Religious Exemption, documentation must be provided. Please click here to learn more. We ask families to please make arrangements before the first day of school. Please see our admission policy and Religious Exemption form on the district website (HEA-F092).
