Monitoring the Weather – January 19, 2022
Please note: This article was originally posted during a previous school year. Information and/or dates from past events may be not be relevant for the current school year. Good afternoon, CMCSS families, District officials are closely monitoring the weather forecast for this evening and tomorrow. Although forecasters are predicting the potential for a wintry mix, the amount of precipitation and impacts on travel are uncertain. Currently, Montgomery County is not under any winter weather watches or warnings. Because of the uncertainty, there is no recommendation at this time to delay or close schools tomorrow. However, the Operations Department will continue monitoring the forecast and a team is on standby to drive routes across the county to check conditions very early tomorrow morning. We will keep families updated. As a reminder, if school buildings are closed, the CMCSS Communications Department will use SchoolMessenger to notify families via call, text, and email. Parents and guardians can use the Parent Self-Service Portal at parents.cmcss.net to update contact information throughout the year. The district also will share inclement weather closure updates on official CMCSS social media accounts, https://www.cmcss.net, and local media. Please ensure that you check your sources when viewing school closure information on social media. For official CMCSS social media, follow us @cmcssinfo on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
