SCHOOL NURSE POSITIONS
As a school nurse, you will not only support the health and wellness of our children but make a foundational difference in their lives.
As a school nurse, you can provide essential care, while still maintaining a work-life balance. Our schools provide supporting and uplifting environments and strive to make staff feel appreciated and empowered.
There are no 12-hour shifts and no nights and weekends. Embrace your time off, with holidays and summer breaks. Do what you love, and find the time to enjoy your family and friends as well.
I look forward to coming to work every day, the kids love to tell me about their families and hobbies. It makes every day special.

UNDERSTANDING SCHOOL NURSING
Summer Break
Summer break is a wonderful time to relax and unplug. Split your paychecks using the Summer Salary Distribution Plan and you’ll still receive paychecks as you enjoy your time off.
District Calendar
Be sure you understand the district calendar. School nurses work a 196-day calendar and a 7.5-hour workday, with a 30-minute lunch. For questions, reach out to the HR team.
School Leader
School nurses enjoy autonomy in their practice while still being a part of the CMCSS team. The school nurse is often the only healthcare professional in the building. Your experience and caring will make a difference in the lives of the school staff and students.
Stay Informed
While the role of a school nurse is primarily health care, it is important to stay informed regarding requirements set forth by the district. Building relationships with school-level staff provide answers and support when needed.
